Torrey's Appliance Rentals is a Long Beach business. One owner-operator, one truck, one phone number, and a service area that stretches from LA County down to Camp Pendleton. We rent washers, dryers, and refrigerators by the month — no credit checks, no long contracts, no surprise fees.

01 · The founder

Started as a side hustle. Turned into something worth doing right.

I'm Torrey Peterson — Army National Guard infantry veteran, six years in service, now running an appliance rental business out of Long Beach. The short version: I started this on the side, customers started referring more customers, and I built it into the operation it is today. The long version is a few paragraphs longer.

I started Torrey's because I kept watching friends and former Soldiers spend $1,500 on a washer and dryer they'd own for ten months — then sell at a loss when orders moved them. That's a bad deal. Renting wasn't a bad deal. So I bought a few units, started delivering, and figured out the rest as the calls came in.

Today I do this full-time. I'm the one who answers the phone, drives the truck, hooks up the gas line, and texts you back. When something breaks, I fix it. When orders move you, I work with you. That's not a value proposition — it's how a small business actually runs when one person owns it.

02 · What we do

Three appliances. One flat monthly rate.

We rent washer and dryer sets, refrigerators, and Comfort Bundles (washer + dryer + fridge). Everything is billed monthly through Stripe — no rent-to-own, no escalators, no hidden fees. How it works lays out every step from your first message to the day we pick the unit up.

The numbers: $75 a month for a washer/dryer set, $90 for a fridge, $140–$150 for a bundle. Six-month minimum, then month-to-month with 14 days' notice. $200 refundable deposit, returned within 14 days of pickup. No credit check. The FAQ covers the rest.

03 · Where we serve

Long Beach hub, four counties.

We operate out of Long Beach and deliver across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego counties. Free delivery within 20 miles of our hub; a $40 fee applies beyond. We have dedicated local pages for every city we cover regularly:

04 · Built for military families

A big share of our customers are active-duty military and their families. We know what PCS orders look like, why a 12-month appliance contract doesn't fit a military timeline, and why "transfer the rental for free" actually matters when orders move you. Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton families all get the military rate — no deposit (waived with LES), no early-return fee on PCS orders, free transfers between SoCal bases.
